Wow – one year old already!

Oh, I just noticed the date – 11th July. It was a year ago today that I published my first blog post, Introducing – Me.

Back then I was 7.5 months pregnant, mum to a wiley toddler, and full of dreams.

Now we’re all a year older, my blogging community has started to grow, Mr Banya has taken a work break and we’ve moved house. A lot, and seemingly not much at the same time. But I’m not sure that I’d want it any other way, not just yet. I’m pretty happy with where we are right now.

A more organised blogger might have had something special lined up for their one year anniversary. But I like to think of myself as authentic more than disorganised. 🙂

“They” say that “most blogs” only stick around for “6 months or so”*, so I think I’m doing pretty well, disorganised or not. I’m still posting (even if simple letters to my girls made up the majority of posts for a while there), and I’m still learning. And more importantly, I’m still loving the process. I think I’ll stick around for another year….

I have been tinkering a bit with some blog design changes. I’m thinking of changing my header, because whilst I like the one I currently have, for technical reasons I can’t replicate the font style very easily. Here’s the current one and two new ones that I’m playing around with. I’m not sure that I’m happy with either yet. What do you think?

And as you can see, I’m also playing around with adding some words – both to describe what my blog is about and to centre me. Mr Banya has vetoed a few word combinations. Apparently I need to avoid the words “amateur, wife, girls” because they’ll get too many hits from porn-seekers. Lol. I’m working on some sort of combination of Sew Craft Play Bake Laugh Love, but I think six words is too many…

I have a giveaway coming up for you soon, but in the meantime sing along with me “Happy Birthday dear Danya Banya….”

xx
Danya

* I heard this somewhere ages ago but I have no idea if it is really true and I haven’t bothered to research further…. Does anyone know?
