I’m very fascinated with you creativity. I wanted to know what activities to recommend for a child having problems with reading comprehension?

Thanks Amah, and what a great question. I guess my answer would depend on the age of your child and the sort of books you're reading…

I've been kinda lucky in that my kids have always been avid readers (even when they were tiny babies, they both adored books). When they were really little (under a year), I never read stories, instead we looked at thousands of books that had clear pictures, and we'd point to this and that, and I'd 'narrate' based on whatever my child was focusing on. We'd ask questions and ponder, so that the reading experience was more interactive. We only progressed to reading the actual words in storybooks when they were toddlers, and we started with very simple predictable story lines. (A lot of books designed for this young age have very abstract concepts in them, which I think are actually more designed to entertain the parents than the child). Does that help?

Otherwise, here are a few posts that deal with comprehension for older kids, maybe one of these might help… http://www.fantasticfunandlearning.com/comprehenshttp://mosswoodconnections.com/activities-for-reahttp://growingbookbybook.com/modeling-comprehensi

    Hi Danya
We (my wife & myself) have enjoyed your pages. Wondering if more pics of your angel JJ can be shared. Assuming she is getting bigger by now.

    • Hi Khalid,
I’m so glad that you enjoy reading our activities. JJ is much bigger – she’s 6.5 years old now. She still does lots of our activities, but sometimes she prefers not to be included in the photos, and I respect her choice. But every now and again she lets me include a photo – you’ll just have to keep an eye out. 🙂
